Hemingway Safaris has every aspect of their trips down to a science; from the staff that prepared our delicious campfire meals and took us on our unforgettable game drives, to the accommodations and activities they had scheduled, these trips are unparalleled. Our game drive guides were informed, friendly, funny, and personable. Their ability to drive us through the Savuti sand, find tracks, spot animals and crack jokes was astounding. Our hilarious chefs fed us some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten and managed to cook it all over a campfire. They kept us full and smiling every hour of every day and even found a way to sneak in some relaxing siestas each afternoon.

Logan took care of the logistics, travel plans, and communication before we left for Botswana and made the process of preparing for this trip very simple. She made reservations at some of the coolest rest stops, adventure parks, and traditional African restaurants in the areas so we were able to soak in all of the amazing cultural wonders around us without worrying about a single detail. 

Tuck was incredibly knowledgable about the land and the animals and shared a lot of great insight from his former experiences in the bush. He handled every curveball that was thrown at us like a pro.

I still don't understand how the money I paid covered all of the incredible things we were able to see and do for two entire weeks. The value of taking a trip with this company is unbeatable. Traveling with Hemingway Safaris, you'll have everything you need to be comfortable and entertained. I'm already planning my next trip and I can't wait for what's in store for us next time.

I went on safari with Brian to South Africa in January 2015. I can honestly say it was the most exhilarating, immersive and informative trip I’ve ever been on. Brian is the real deal — he knows everything about South Africa and his passion for wildlife and the Bush was clear throughout our entire stay. Ilias and Doc, our guides in the Timbavati Game Reserve, were two of the nicest people I’ve ever met — their vast and almost mystical knowledge of the Bush is second to none. We’ve bought lots of his African artwork and also been on 3 of his Safaris in the last 5 years (the last one this year for over 4 weeks through S.A. , Botswana and Zimbawe).
Brian runs the best overall safaris we’ve ever been on. The other “up market” safaris we’ve experienced have been fine but no contest with Hemingways’ value for money and, most importantly, hands on control of all aspects of the trip by Brian and his team.

Brian Gaisford is a unique person and a wonderful African guide. Our family spent three weeks on safari with him in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Eight days were spent camping in the bush, which was the highlight of the trip. We saw large numbers of lions, elephants, giraffe, buffalo and endless other animals and developed an appreciation for all of them. In addition to organizing a captivating, safe, exciting and beautiful trip, Brian himself is so entertaining and attentive that he becomes a major part of the experience. His wry sense of humor sets the tone for the staff, who were all extremely engaging and helpful as well. In our minds, Hemingway is synonymous with quality and personal attention.
